Rebates Available
Tri-State G&T and Midwest are offering Energy Efficiency Credits for the installation of Heat Pumps, Water Heaters, Electrical Irrigation Motors and Variable Speed Drive retrofits. Energy Star electric resistance clothes dryers, induction cooktops and refrigerator/freezer recycling. Commercial LED Lighting includes exterior wall mounted lighting, exterior pole mounted lighting, refrigerated case lighting, and interior lighting. Contact us for more information.

Commercial & Industrial Motors
- $10/hp Member System payment for motors 10 hp and above. (Commercial and industrial motors only)
- $1.50/hp Wiring assistance if the motor replaces a fossil-fueled engine, or is a new installation
- Used and rewound motors are not eligible
- Per project cap of $20,000
Variable Speed Drive (VSD)
- Electric motor size 25hp and larger
- Applies to irrigation, farm, commercial and industrial uses
- New and retrofit installations only
- Sliding scale from $1,600 to $6,800
- Based on motor horsepower
- Cap of 50% of the VSD equipment costs
- Per project cap of $20,000
Electric Heat Pump: Air-source (ducted, ductless & radiant)
- $1,000 for systems equal to or less than 1.5 tons (18,000 BTUs)
- $3,000 for systems greater than 1.5 tons (18,000 BTUs)
- $1,000 bonus for ducted systems with propane back-up heat (propane heating system must be able to cover a minimum of 50% of home or building space [SF] down to 17 degrees F [outdoor temp.])
- All air-to-water radiant systems: $1,000/ton
- Minimum eligibility (Ducted and Ductless): Energy Star version 6.1, minimum standard 7.8 HSPF2
- Incentive amount is the lower of stated rebate or 50% of equipment cost
- AHRI certification and/or number required
Electric Heat Pump: Ground Source
- New or replacement ground source heat pumps
- AHRI certification and/or number required
- $1000/ton for new installations
- $500/ton for existing unit replacement
Electric Resistance Water Heaters
- 30 gallon minimum
- $50/unit + $3/gallon electric resistance units replacing propane or natural gas
- $30/unit + $3/gallon electric resistance for new construction
Energy Star Heat Pump Water Heater (air source)
- Must be Energy Star rated
- 30 gallon minimum
- $350/unit + $3/gallon
Electric Appliances and recycling: Clothes dryers, Induction cooktops and Refrigerator/Freezer Recycling
- Eligible new appliances include: clothes dryers and induction cooktops
- Clothes dryers must be Energy Star certified. A list of qualifying equipment is available at www.energystar.gov
- Induction cooktops must have minimum surface width of 30 inches to qualify
- Eligible appliance recycling include: refrigeratiros and freezers, maximum of 2 units per year per member account
- $60/unit for refrigerator/freezer recycling (max $120 per member account per year)
- $30/unit for electric resistance clothes dryer
- $90/unit for electric heat pump clothes dryer (a.k.a. ventless)
- $100/unit for induction cooktop replacing electric
- $350/unit for induction cooktop replacing propane/natural gas or new construction
Outdoor Power Equipment Electrification
- Battery and corded electric equipment only
- Members limited to one rebate per product except e-bikes
- An aggregated maximum rebate of $300 per member account excludes riding lawn mowers
- 25% of cost up to $1000 for riding mower
- 25% of cost up to $250 for 2-stage snow blower
- 25% of cost up to $150 for snow blowers, walk-behind mowers and e-bikes
- 25% of cost up to $100 for chainsaws
- 25% of cost up to $50 for trimmers, leaf blowers & power washers
- 50% cost up to $25 for additional batteries with original purchase/application (limit 1 addt'l, battery per product)
Electric Vehicle Chargers
- All equipment and installation costs are required to be submitted on one application
- One rebate per installed charger; multiple charge ports do not qualify for multiple rebates
- Photo of installed EVSE equipment and circuit in service panel required
Level 2 (L2) - No retail sale or fee collection capability
- 50% of total equipment and installation costs up to $250 ($125 charger/$125 electric service)
DCFC and L2 - Retail sale or fee collection capable
- 50% of total equipment and installation costs up to $1000 for L2
- 50% of total equipment and installation costs up to $3000 for DCFC rated between 50-75 kW
- 50% of total equipment and installation costs up to $5000 for DCFC rated between 76-149 kW
- 50% of total equipment and installation costs up to $7500 for DCFC rated 150 kW & above
